Oliveri Dried Porcini Mushrooms are pantry powerhouses with a pronounced woody flavor that sets them in a class of their own. After harvest, these small, dark, mature porcini are dried to preserve their robust aroma and characteristic flavor.
Once rehydrated, these high-quality mushrooms become meaty and tender, perfect for adding to risotto, pasta, farro dishes, and more. Add finely chopped porcini to Principato di Lucedio Carnaroli risotto or use them in a ragù.
To rehydrate porcini:
- Make sure you rinse the dried porcini mushrooms under running water to clean any remaining debris.
- Submerge them in warm water for at least 15 minutes.
- Reserve and strain the flavorful soaking liquid to add rich, mushroom earthiness to soups, stews, and sauces.
- The drained mushrooms are ready to be used!
- Cook them for no longer than 15 minutes to ensure they retain their meaty texture and strong aroma.
