The Jeff Conarko Grant Goes to Vista Brewing!

The Texas Food + Wine Alliance awarded over $100,000 in grants to local businesses and nonprofits to support culinary innovation and community giveback projects. Con'Olio is proud to support this great organization boosting the Central Texas food economy. One of the grants included the Jeff Conarko Grant for Sustainablity for $2,500, which was established in 2017 to honor Jeff. Vista Brewing captured the Jeff Conarko Grant for Sustainability of $2,500 and we are thrilled.
With the help of these grants, Vista is kicking off a project to (hopefully) significantly advance soil health in their onsite farm. They aim to continue building the Vista destination as an educational platform for sustainability in land development, brewing and agriculture.
They are innovating how organic waste streams from the brewing process and groundwater are captured, treated and reintroduced into the soil. They will be measuring how this will revitalize soil biology and accelerate fertile agricultural ecosystems. Over the course of 2023, Vista hopes to prove out the innovative concepts, with the goal of having a sharable platform by early 2024 to educate neighboring farms, breweries, wineries, distilleries and cideries.
